SELAVIP received a total of 326 projects from Africa, Asia and Latin America and the Caribbean of which 82 % (268 projects) were declared admissible and thus obtained a position ranking, by virtue of which, and from the funds authorised for the year 2025, 69 projects have been selected that will improve the quality of life of more than 9,000 families.

We invite the NGOs whose projects were selected to work together with the families that will benefit and, if possible, to join the public and private sectors, as this network makes everything easier when there is a will on all sides to get families out of these environments of poverty and misery.

We also want to inform, in accordance with our policy of transparency, that the remaining 18% (58 projects in total) were declared inadmissible for not incorporating information that would allow a proper evaluation of the project, for not reading the terms of the call, for not complying with the objectives defined by SELAVIP, for using asbestos in the construction process and for delays in the execution of projects from previous years, some of which have not yet been completed.

We would have liked to select many more projects. However our resources are limited, but we hope to be able to do it in the future, since with most of the NGOs, with which SELAVIP has worked in the past and also with the new ones that we add each year, we have been building friendship, trust, the effort to reach places of greatest need, and the transparency of working together for the poorest of the poor.

Nous tenons à remercier toutes celles et ceux qui ont participé à l’appel à projets 2025.

SELAVIP a reçu un total de 326 projets en provenance d’Afrique, d’Asie, d’Amérique Latine et des Caraïbes dont 82% (268 projets) ont été déclarés éligibles et ont ainsi obtenu un classement, en vertu duquel, et en fonction des fonds autorisés pour l’année 2025, 69 projets ont été sélectionnés qui amélioreront la qualité de vie de plus de 9000 familles.

Nous invitons les ONG dont les projets ont été sélectionnés à collaborer avec les familles bénéficiaires et, dans la mesure du possible, à associer les secteurs public et privé, car ce réseau facilite les choses lorsqu’il existe une volonté commune de sortir les familles de ces environnements de pauvreté et de misère.

Nous souhaitons également informer, conformément à notre politique de transparence, que les 18 % restants (soit un total de 58 projets) ont été déclarés inadmissibles pour ne pas avoir incorporé d’informations permettant une évaluation correcte du projet, pour ne pas avoir lu les termes et conditions de l’appel, pour ne pas avoir respecté les objectifs définis par SELAVIP, pour vouloir utiliser de l’amiante dans le processus de construction et pour des retards dans l’exécution de projets des années précédentes, dont certains n’ont pas encore été finalisés.

Nous aurions aimé en sélectionner beaucoup plus. Hélas nos ressources sont limitées, nous espérons néanmoins pouvoir le faire dans le future car avec la plupart des ONG, avec lesquelles SELAVIP a travaillé dans le passé, nous avons construit des liens d’amitié, de confiance, un effort pour atteindre les endroits où les besoins sont les plus grands, et la transparence du travail en commun pour les plus pauvres des pauvres.

The 2025 call is closed and we want to thank all the organizations who participated in it. We received a total of 326 projects from the different continents where we are currently working with different partners in the improvement of the living conditions of the poorest and most vulnerable.

The list of selected projects will be published at the end of October on our website (www.selavip.org). We will also contact the NGOs whose project has been selected by email. Finally, the selection will also be made through the project management system (application.selavip.org). We thank you in advance for your patience.

These initiatives must be creative, mainly focused on poor families in urban areas, that promote the participation of communities, that include the public and private sectors, that can also be sustainable and inclusive so that the proposal is an effective improvement of the dignity of the quality of life of the poorest and most vulnerable.

That is why housing projects in urban areas, with more than one floor, that are more efficient in terms of land use, and initiatives that use recycled materials will be prioritized.

We hope that you will be enthusiastic about this new application process as SELAVIP wishes to reaffirm its commitment to work together with you and other social actors to transform the right to decent housing and to build better cities.

As last year, the process will start on April 15 and end on June 15. In addition, we recommend that you submit your project before the closing date, as the online application system will not take into account time differences between countries at the closing time.

This Monday, March 11 at 10 a.m. the commemoration of the 100 years of birth of our Jesuit companion Josse van der Rest will be celebrated. This will take place at the Vivienda Foundation, located at Ochagavía 10.060, commune El Bosque.

This celebration seeks to commemorate the memory of Josse, better known as “the father of the mediaguas.” Josse van der Rest dedicated his life to helping those who needed it most, especially those without homes. He worked with the Vivienda Foundation and Hogar de Cristo, building homes for the less fortunate.

He arrived in Chile in 1958. After various jobs he met the Hogar de Cristo, where he began his fight against segregation and the exclusion of the poor in the country, and then spread to many other countries. This year he would have turned 100 years of life and 69 years of priesthood. This commemorative event seeks to remember is the essence, life and work of Father Josse van der Rest.

For the year 2024, considering the scarcity of sources of financing and the constant increase in the prices of materials, we have increased the amount per project and in some cases per solution's type.

We hope you will be enthusiastic about this new application process, because for the right to a decent habitat and the obligation to build better cities, SELAVIP, in these more than 50 years of life, wishes to reaffirm its commitment to be part of this great chain of work with all of you.

Nous voulons nous souvenir de lui comme de la personne qui a mis toute son énergie et son travail au service du droit au terrain et à un logement décent pour les plus pauvres des pauvres.

En raison de la forte demande et de l’intérêt de participer à nos appels à candidatures pour des projets de financement de logements d’urgence, de systèmes d’eau, d’assainissement et de régularisation de terrains, nous désirons informer toutes les ORGANISATIONS à but non lucratif qui NE SONT PAS ENREGISTRÉES dans notre système que les inscriptions ne seront ouvertes que jusqu’au 28 février 2023 (à minuit heure chilienne). Tout enregistrement d’ONG effectué après cette date aura pour conséquence que l’ONG ne pourra pas participer à l’appel à projets en cours. Le processus d’examen et d’activation des organisations reprendra une fois l’appel à projets clôturé, c’est-à-dire le 15 juin.

Cette annonce est uniquement destinée aux organisations non enregistrées dans notre système, celles qui sont déjà activées ne doivent pas tenir compte de cette annonce.

Despite the continuing uncertainty of the COVID-19 pandemic worldwide, the restrictions on travel, the difficulties in acquiring the necessary materials due to the constant rise in their prices and the scarcity of these in the markets, which added to the mandatory quarantines and the significant number of projects still under development, the decision was made to continue with the call for project applications for the year 2023 so that all organizations that were registered and activated until March 31, 2022 could send their initiatives for new housing projects, toilets or latrines, drinking water systems, sewage or sewage disposal systems, land regularization, and others.

Regarding the application process, the only change that affected it was related to the the dates of the call, which began on April 15 and closed on June 15. We received 325 projects. Afterwards, and for almost three months, a team of professionals reviewed and evaluated them considering the five stages of the pre-selection process.

Once again we would like to thank all the NGOs that participated, who took the time to send projects in search of a better quality of life for the people of their respective countries, but due to budget restrictions it will not be possible to support all those initiatives that were considered eligible.

Due to the increase in the price of materials, SELAVIP decided to increase the funds to be distributed to more than USD 3,600,000 in total, as well as the total amount per project from USD 72,000 to USD 80,000 and the contribution per family for new dwelling from USD 1,400 to USD 1,600.

This year almost 25% of the projects were declared inadmissible for not incorporating information that would allow a proper evaluation of the project, for not reading the terms and conditions of the call, for not complying with the objectives defined by SELAVIP and for the delay in the execution of projects from previous years, some of which have not yet been completed.

The remaining 75% of the projects were declared admissible and obtained a ranking (product of their score) of location, by virtue of which and of the funds authorized for the year 2023, 61 projects have been selected that will improve the quality of life of more than 9,200 families, which will work together with NGOs and SELAVIP to make these initiatives a reality with the deep sense that the poor must regain their dignity and have permanent means of support, whether private or public.

Liste finale des projets qui ont été sélectionnés pour l’année 2023

Veuillez recevoir les salutations cordiales de la part du conseil d’administration de la Fondation SELAVIP et de son personnel technique et professionnel.

Malgré l’incertitude persistante de la pandémie COVID-19 au niveau mondial, les restrictions de voyage, les difficultés à acquérir les matériaux nécessaires en raison de l’augmentation constante de leurs prix et de leur rareté sur les marchés, en plus des quarantaines obligatoires et du nombre important de projets encore en cours de développement, il a été décidé de poursuivre l’appel à projets pour l’année 2023 afin que toutes les organisations enregistrées et actives jusqu’au 31 mars 2022 puissent envoyer leurs initiatives pour de nouveaux projets de logements, de toilettes ou latrines, de systèmes d’eau potable, de systèmes d’égouts, de régularisation de terrains, et autres.

Le processus de candidature a seulement souffert un changement, les dates de l’appel ont en effet été modifiées, il a commencé le 15 avril et s’est terminé le 15 juin. Nous avons reçu 325 projets, ensuite pendant près de trois mois, une équipe de professionnels les a examinés et évalués en tenant compte des cinq étapes du processus de présélection.

Une fois de plus, nous tenons à remercier toutes les ONG qui ont participé, qui ont pris le temps d’envoyer des projets en vue d’améliorer la qualité de vie des habitants de leurs pays respectifs, mais en raison de restrictions budgétaires, il ne sera pas possible de soutenir toutes les initiatives qui ont été jugées éligibles.

En raison de l’augmentation du prix des matériaux, SELAVIP a décidé d’augmenter les fonds à distribuer à plus de 3.600.000 USD au total, ainsi que le montant total par projet de 72.000 à 80.000 USD et la contribution par famille pour les nouveaux logements de 1 400 à 1 600 USD.

Cette année, près de 25 % des projets ont été déclarés inadmissibles pour n’avoir pas incorporé les informations permettant une évaluation correcte du projet, pour ne pas avoir lu les termes et conditions de l’appel, pour ne pas avoir respecté les objectifs définis par SELAVIP et pour le retard dans l’exécution de projets des années précédentes, dont certains n’ont pas encore été finalisés.

Les 75 % restants des projets ont été déclarés recevables et ont obtenu un classement en fonction de leur score, en vertu duquel et en vertu des fonds autorisés pour l’année 2023, 61 projets ont été sélectionnés qui amélioreront la qualité de vie de plus de 9-200 familles, qui travailleront ensemble avec les ONG et SELAVIP pour concrétiser ces initiatives avec le sens profond que les pauvres doivent retrouver leur dignité et disposer de canaux de soutien permanents, qu’ils soient privés ou publics.
